Abstract :
A high-power Er/Yb double-cladding fiber amplifier, side-pumped through a V-groove by a 100-/spl mu/m-wide broad stripe laser diode exhibited 32 dBm output power, 57 dB small signal gain, a 3 dB gain compression at 28 dBm, and a 15% electrical to optical power conversion efficiency.
