Abstract
Large system margins were successfully achieved in dispersion-managed soliton transmission experiments over 10,000 km at 10 Gbit/s and 20 Gbit/s with 53-km repeater spacing. Optimum system parameters were easily designed by considering pulse spacing and dispersion compensation period as primary parameters.
