Abstract :
Bad data detection and identification is an essential part of any state estimator (SE). The ability of the estimator to detect bad data is related to the measurement as well as network configuration. Bad data in critical measurements cannot be detected. This paper presents a way of detecting and identifying bad data in such measurements by using additional phasor measurements in a separate linear post processing step without modifying the original estimator. The required theory and associated simulation results are presented to describe the approach.
