Abstract :
In this paper, modern tank fire control system, and its ballistic solution based on ballistic data has been described & solved. Essential components of a modern tank fire control system, their connectivity and requirements have also been discussed. For obtaining the ballistic solution, the ballistic data of tank ammunition has been exploited and six parameters from the data have been modelled by using non linear least square fitting. The accuracy of fit has been kept to 0.1 sigma . By using these parameters, prediction angles are solved. The results so obtained are tabulated and shows the accuracy to the level of 0.1 sigma . The modelled solution calculates the prediction angle for a moving target from a stationary tank. The modelled six parameters are: Aiming angle a , air temperature t, charge temperature T , muzzle velocity v , time of flight (TOF) T and cross wind w.
