Abstract
The dispersion characteristics of dispersive double negative (DNG) metamaterial columns have been investigated numerically. Dispersive dielectric and magnetic constants of the DNG metamaterials are assumed to be identical for simplicity. Two types of distinct guided modes such as core and surface modes are defined and their dispersion relations are found. Several dispersion curves for circularly symmetric and hybrid modes are plotted and their properties are discussed.
