Abstract
The power flow calculation method reported by S.K. Goswami et al. can converge very quickly when used to solve radial and meshed distribution systems, but their branch and node numbering scheme is complex and hard to practise. This paper presents a new simple branch and node numbering scheme, and some improvements on the solution techniques which can make the algorithm more effective. The results of 33-bus and 90-bus test systems show its superiority for the solution of meshed networks compared with the other methods
