Abstract :
The efficiency in the iterative search of the solution in the MoM-EFIE analysis of finite composite arrays of split ring resonators (SRR) and thin-strips - metamaterials - under the excitation of an elementary dipole is compared for two different preconditioning schemes based on the incomplete LU transform. A conventional scheme of discarding interactions between basis functions beyond a given distance is compared with retaining only those interactions between basis functions inside each of the basic cells of the composite array.
