Abstract
This work puts under the judgment and speculation of the educational community the concept of the "educational digital entity", i.e. the digital representation of the teacher as a virtual figure with human characteristics. With the help of 3D graphics and advanced animation techniques, the digital entity has the possibility of imitating or substituting for the teacher, mainly in regard to the lecturing of the courses to be taught. Moreover, as part of this work, a digital entity development methodology is determined and its introduction as a pilot project in the educational sector is described
