Abstract
The Database Management System (DBMS) integrity support is crucial for good operation of database applications. The DBMS should provide the necessary facilities to define and confirm integrity restrictions. Nevertheless the majority of current DBMS is still far from providing a satisfactory support for representation and for general and particular integrity restrictions treatment. In this work we present a proposal to handle integrity with complementary specifications for the integrity component of the relational model and using activated procedures (triggers), which are useful to treat particular integrity restrictions.
