  • Abstract
    The paper provides a quite general algorithm for the analysis of microstrip coupled slot antennas. The method, particularly well suited for leaky wave slot antennas and applicable to a resonant slot, is based on the construction of a physically appealing, entire domain, MoM basis function which allows a consistent reduction of the number of unknowns and of the total computation time (memory and CPU time). The entire domain basis functions are generated by solving, in a quasi analytical form, the transmission line Green´s function (TLGF) problem with an appropriately chosen excitation. The proposed procedure can also be used as a matrix compression technique when the basis functions are viewed as ruling the grouping of the sub-domain unknowns; this leads to the possibility of applying the method in the framework of a conventional, sub-domain algorithm, by reusing already available codes.
