Abstract
The authors describe sonospectrography and its application to patients with congenital dislocation of the hips (CDH). Radiographically diagnosed patients with unilateral CDH have been reexamined with this novel instrument. Data obtained from sonospectrography were evaluated. Although it is preliminary, the data are conclusive enough to report that this non-invasive approach is reproducible and safe for determining CDH. It eliminates exposing the infants to X-ray radiation, and enables one to detect CDH early for conservative treatment
