Abstract :
This paper presents the motivations behind the development of a novel knowledge plane to extend e-health service-oriented application services. The paper starts by a brief description of service-oriented architecture applied to remote health monitoring and execution system, which is implemented as a massively-distributed sensor and actuator grid overlay. This will be followed by an illustrative example of pregnancy monitoring is used to detail the proposed architecture and operation. Finally, the paper concludes with general remarks and a statement of further work
