Abstract :
In this paper, a center-tapped spiral transformer balun over 6.33-6.89GHz is designed by using integrated passive device (IPD) technology. EM simulation is used in the layout structure of the balun for the insertion loss, phase imbalance and amplitude imbalance. Then, a reasonable method is presented to extract the equivalent circuit of the transformer balun. It is found that the simulated results of the equivalent circuit are in agreement with the EM simulation for the balun.
