Abstract :
In this paper the state estimation of voltage sags in electrical networks is solved by means of an application of genetic algorithms. Voltage sag state estimation is defined as the estimation of the number of voltage sags occurring at non-monitored buses from data of number of sags recorded at a limited number of monitored buses. This problem is formulated as an underdetermined system of equations which is solved by applying a proposed methodology using the Genetic Algorithm Matlab Toolbox®. The performance of the developed methodology is assessed by means of case studies applied in the IEEE 57-bus test system. The impact of the monitoring program.
