Abstract
It is pointed out that Army AirLand Operations require a different communications architecture from the current ATCCS SIGMA STAR. Assured access, anti-jam, mobile communications throughout the dispersed and dynamic battlefield is imperative. UHF, SHF, EHF, and commercial satellite communications have an integral place in this architecture. Innovative and cost-effective technology advancements must occur to make this a reality
