Abstract :
The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration is currently in the process of procuring a new HF radio system (KV 90) for the Swedish Armed Forces. Performance measurements form an important part in the evaluation of tenders for this procurement. These measurements shall be comparable and, during the first stage, made in a laboratory environment. Therefore, the need for a laboratory testbed has arisen. A simulator that is able to create an interference environment similar to the true interference environment expected in HF communications is described. The behavior of the simulator conforms to results from extensive interference measurements performed in Sweden and the United Kingdom
