Abstract :
An index was proposed to assess wind power system reliability considering grid voltage sag and low voltage ride through (LVRT) ability of wind turbines. The index could quantify the impact of grid voltage sag and LVRT ability of wind turbines on output of wind power. Then the index was calculated in IEEE-RTS79 system by typical wind farm reliability model and Monte Carlo Simulation. The results verified the index was right and necessary. Further, it could give important reference to improve reliability analysis in wind power system.
