Abstract
The authors describe the image segmentation hardware and the software algorithms used in the design of a vision system to track row crops for vehicle guidance and sprayer positioning. Tests indicated that the algorithms were adequate. Plant row centers were correctly identified in all test situations. However, for the system to have significant applications in the agricultural environment, it would have to run in real time
