Abstract :
This paper describes a deployment scenario for optical access networks and ATM services using the ATM-PON systems. A new ATM bearer service with guaranteed frame rate (GFR) and a future issue in dynamic bandwidth allocation for the ATM-PON were also presented. The ATM-PON system is an economical high-speed optical access system which provides universal access networks for multimedia services.
