Abstract
A broadband coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed bow-tie slot antenna is proposed. By using a linear tapered transition, a 37% impedance bandwidth at -10 dB return loss is achieved. The antenna structure is very simple and the radiation patterns of the antenna in the whole bandwidth remain stable; moreover, the cross-polarization level is lower. An antenna model is fabricated on a high dielectric constant substrate. Experiments show that the simulated results agree well with the measured ones.
