Abstract
The objective of this study is twofold: first, it explores the various techniques used in knowledge acquisition. Second, a framework is presented to provide a systematic view and guidelines for the design of knowledge acquisition systems. Emphasis is placed on the mapping between learning strategies and the other attributes of a knowledge acquisition system. By doing this, the authors abstract the crucial issues pertaining to the design of a knowledge acquisition system and provide design guidelines
