Abstract
The authors show that laser ablation of biological tissue shows pulsewidth dependence. At pulsewidths less than 10 picoseconds and with fluences near the breakdown threshold, tissue ablations are maximally precise and efficient, resulting in limited collateral tissue damage when compared to longer pulsewidth.
