  • Abstract
DSM (Demand Side Management) strategies are modeled and the grid capability to accommodate wind power is analyzed in the power system dispatching optimized software Balmorel in this paper. The influences of DSM improvement to wind power penetration are analyzed by investing the new pumped-storage unit and implementing peak-valley price mechanism. The conclusion is drew that the output of wind farms can be increased and the wind curtailment and power fluctuation can be mitigated, as well as considerable economic benefit is also obtained by case studies.
