Abstract
Energy transmitted per correct received bit is used as cost function for evaluating the radio resource consumption of each user within a UMTS network, according to the requested quality of service (QoS) class. Diverse packet scheduler algorithms are analysed, determining their impact on packet delay, throughput and packet call delay. Results show that the proposed algorithm, modified round robin, is a trade-off between C/I-based scheduling and round robin scheduling, and provides a quite fair sharing of resources with higher network throughput than plain round robin
