Abstract :
This paper discusses the different approaches required to ensure organisations maximise the effectiveness of modelling in supporting change management. Typically most modelling tools require specialist knowledge of simulation techniques in order to be deployed effectively. As knowledge of the value of the modelling has spread, so many potential project managers have faced the dilemma of wanting access to the technique without the requirement to develop specialist modelling skills. The author suggests that there is now effectively four classes of process modelling - each targetting specific application types.
