Abstract
In order to improve the efficiency of energy utilization in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), an energy-balanced clustering routing protocol (EBC) is proposed. In the protocol, the nodes select cluster heads in a distributed way, the signal intensity is used to control the distance between nodes which are in the same cluster, and the nodes with more remaining energy are chosen as the cluster heads. The simulation results show that compared with LEACH protocol, when more data are sent in a round, EBC protocol can postpone the failure time of the first node and can prolong the effective lifetime of the network.
