Abstract
A mathematical model of handoff in integrated voice/data cellular system is developed. In the proposed scheme, the voice service handoff adopts a guard channel scheme and the data service handoff employs a queueing model scheme. Performance measures obtained include call blocking probability, handoff refused probability and carried traffic. The results show that the scheme can greatly reduce the handoff refused probability of data services. The bigger the proportion of data services, the better the scheme does
