Abstract
The implementation of optimum detector for Chirp UWB system is complicated. autocorrelation demodulation (ACD) is a promising suboptimal demodulation method with low complexity. However, its poor performance is bottleneck. In this paper, chirp UWB system with an improved multiple-symbol ACD detector is proposed. Two different decision rules: ML and FB are proposed. The performance of ML detector is analyzed and the upper bound of the BER is given. It is shown that the proposed ACD schemes based on two different detection rules achieve similar BER performance and the BER performance outperform the original ACD scheme, which is justified by the simulation results, with only a slight increase in complexity.
