Abstract :
Poor communication between engineer and engineer controlled product model data generation procedure has become a critical concern in virtual space based product development. Engineer does not able to communicate elements of thinking process at decision making on engineering objects and their relationships simply because current product modeling is not suitable for this purpose. This classical style of engineering modeling does not support application of product model entities. The authors of this paper conceptualized a new modeling to fill this gap. In this paper, some explanation is given for the basic communication problem then a new methodology is proposed to establish information content based modeling in order to control processes at the generation of engineering object information. The proposed methodology includes an influencing space for the modeling of control by several humans over product entity definition, a discussion of model based communication between humans, a model of human intent, and an integrated virtual engineering space. Finally, a possible extension of current product modeling systems is outlined.
