Abstract
Cognitive radio (CR) is proposed as a promising solution to resolve the spectrum resource scarcity. The premise to implement CR is not to introduce harmful interference to the licensed users (LU). This constraint makes interference estimation becoming very important. In this paper, we perform a quantitative analysis of theaggregation interference at the LU´s receiver. We develop two multi-cell models for interference estimation based on spectrum sensing. A comprehensive analysis about the distribution of the aggregation interference is given by taking account of the architecture of multi-cells, sensing sensitivity, the distribution of the cognitive radios, and the underlying propagation environment. Numerical results validate the analysis.
