Abstract :
The uprising dynamic characteristics of a special overhead crane carrying two trolleys are studied in the simulation software ADAMS. The system investigated consists of a twin-beam, two trolleys, an uprising object, and two wire ropes. Some assumptions are put forward before the analysis and thus, the components are considered as continuous distribution mass beam, lumped mass, rigid body and spring device respectively. A specified numerical example is represented to calculate the dynamic parameters of the uprising system. After models of the beam, wire rope, trolley and uprising object having been created, the dynamic model of the specific system can be obtained by defining constraints and motions between the component models in ADAMS. Carrying out the simulation in ADAMS, we can obtain the simulation curves of some important parameters to describe the dynamic characteristics of the crane system. Analysis and comparison of the results indicate that the dynamic uprising model of the crane system can reveal characteristics of the specific system well and truly and thus, it is a feasible and reliable model.
