Abstract :
In order to help ship operator to make a correct decision in limited time confronting with a variety of data, ship trial manoeuvre is proposed to predict ship performance suppose a new course and speed are set. The trial maneuver is based on ship movement simulation considering ship manoeuvrability and external influence. The MMG ship motion mathematical model is used to model the real ship and predict its performance under steering or main engine operational changes. The Runge-Kutta methods of numerical integration calculate the approximation of the dependent variable. The application shows trial manoeuvre is very efficient to support ship operator to find a suitable action to avoid collision.
