Abstract
Network coding can be adopted in relay to save forwarding resource. Traditional network coding (XOR) is easy to realize, but is with poor receiving performance. The joint network and channel encoding scheme (JNC) can improve the receiving performance rapidly, especially when the relay link is good. However, the JNC encoder and decoder will be totally different with the current design in LTE system. This paper designs one JNC relay and its receiver in LTE-A system, in which all the LTE coding and modulation parts are reused only with simple blocks added. Thus this JNC relay is easy to realize in LTE-A, and has been proved by the simulation with much better performance, compared with the traditional XOR relay.
