Abstract :
Using ATP / EMTP to simulate the single-phase ground fault on transmission line, then use the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) to decompose the fault phase voltage signal, and calculate sample entropy values of the intrinsic mode function (IMF) to determine it´s transient or permanent faults. When it is transient faults that the line can implement the successful adaptive Reclosing. Through a large number of line fault simulations show the effectiveness and practicality of the method.
