Abstract
A 1.9 GHz down-conversion mixer is presented using 0.5 μm CMOS technology. The mixer is based on the Gilbert cell. A common-gate input stage is used rather than common-source input stage in order to adjust the input impedance easily. The mixer has on-chip matching networks including built-in spiral inductors. MIM capacitors are used to increase the selectivity of the matching networks, and to decrease noise. The mixer shows 3.35 dB conversion gain and 9.04 dB noise figure. The mixer is simulated with a 2.5 V supply voltage.
