Abstract
The MRF (Magnetorheological Fluid) working mode and mechanics model were firstly constructed, an MRF damper system was formed by designing MRF damper, application to the milling chatter control was studied. Theoretical analysis results show that the MRF damper´s stiffness and damp increase with magnetic field strength´s increment, the main vibration system amplitude decreases with magnetic field strength´s increment. The MRF damper´s control vibration capacity increases with magnetic field strength´s increment, however, magnetic field strength value is bigger, its control vibration effect isn´t certainly better, it exists a proper value. Milling chatter phenomenon can be controlled if magnetic field strength can be properly chosen.
