Abstract
Computer simulation is used to analyze the performance of a thin cellular network when dynamic channel assignment is employed. Blocking probability using dynamic assignment is compared with that for fixed assignment. It is found that significant improvement is possible using dynamic assignment. This is particularly so when nonuniform traffic is considered. Other statistics such as handoff rate and channel occupancy distribution are also studied and reported
