Abstract
Unipolar electrograms recorded during propagation along the longitudinal axis of fibres differ in shape from those recorded following propagation across the transverse axis. maximum potentials and positive slopes before the intrinsic deflection and the peak-to-peak amplitudes and the negative slopes of the intrinsic deflection were shown to be significantly larger for longitudinal than for transverse propagation. These differences were significant for electrograms recorded during local activation alone and for those with superimposed distance activity. This information could be applied to increasing the information available from and thus the accuracy of cardiac maps.<>
