Abstract
We propose an adaptive generalized selection cooperative diversity system with threshold selection for wireless networks. The decoded-and-forward performances for the proposed system are analyzed over independent but not identically distributed Rayleigh fading channels. The close-form expressions of important performance measures including outage probability are derived using moment generating function (MGF) based approach and order statistics. The numerical and simulation results show that the proposed system, compared with the MRC (maximum ratio combining)-based and SC (selection cooperation) schemes, provides an optimal selection scheme for cooperative relaying nodes using less bandwidth, and achieves a good tradeoff between the system performance and the processing cost of the destination node
