Abstract :
This paper presents a framework for end-to-end service provisioning in multi-granularity multi-domain heterogeneous optical grid networks and proposes efficient connection scheduling mechanisms under sliding scheduled traffic model-in which each connection arrives to the network with earliest possible starting time, latest possible ending time, and holding time. Several distributed control algorithms for scheduled traffic routing are presented: end-to-end, hierarchical, and concatenated; and wavelength assignment unslotted and slotted schemes for connection scheduling. The simulation results indicate that the unslotted scheme performs better when compared to slotted scheme in terms of blocking probability. Whereas, the slotted scheme performs better when compared to unslotted scheme in terms average number of delayed connections
