Abstract :
A new scheme of the carrier frequency synchronization in the OFDMA downlink of WiMAX is proposed in this paper. The proposed method utilizes the preamble structure and the properties of the Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) to estimate the carrier frequency offset (CFO) without the knowledge of the content about the actual transmitted preamble. An iterative scheme is proposed to eliminate the influence of the wireless multipath channel to the estimated result. Simulation results show that the proposed method is suitable for the carrier frequency synchronization in the frequency-selective fading channel.
