Abstract :
Several networks of public transportation are designed according to the hub principle. Thus, the improvement of connection conditions becomes the main condition to provide an satisfactory level of quality of service. This paper is focused on the minimization of the connection time. Thus, the problem of periodic event scheduling is dealt. This problem is generally approached by mean of deterministic mathematical tools. The work presented here shows the interest of the use of stochastic models. This allows a finest approach of the connection system. Indeed, connections are often perturbed by unforeseen events. More precisely, Stochastic Petri Nets (SPN) are applied in order to study the connection. As it is shown in this paper, by introducing the control, SPN are appropriate tools for public transportation timetabling.
