Abstract
In this paper, the spread spectrum modified multipulse pulse position modulation (SS-MMPPM) system is considered. The system uses quadriphase sequences that enhance even-shift orthogonal sequences (E-sequences) as spreading code. Moreover, the frame synchronization methods of the SS-MMPPM system are considered, the method is classified into two methods: the method with the preamble signal (Type A) and the method without the preamble signal (Type B). In this paper, the following performances are evaluated: the data transmission rate, the synchronization performance and the efficiency. Consequently, the data transmission rate of type B is higher than that of the type A. Moreover, the probability of frame detection of type B is better than that of type A
