  • Abstract
With the thermal heavy oil production technology widely applied to enhance oil rate, the high temperature of injected steam has a large influence on casing stress distribution, especially on bending part, which can reduce casing useful life. The casings located in complex geological strata sustain thermal stress which is the maximum in bent casing when steam injected, and it will cause casing damage and severely affect oil production and economic benefit. The stress in bent casing of thermal production horizontal well under different geological conditions was simulated. The results can be used to analyze casing stress status and prevent casing damage in the thermal oilfield.
