Abstract :
An e-mail system should be more robust to be utilized as a central tool in business and medical fields. Toward this robustness, we have worked out a sort of state of the art for the configurations of DNS (Domain Name Service) and sendmail. Our method has six advantages over BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) peering: no need for maintaining high-level administration required for AS (Autonomous System) numbers; no fear of AS number depletion; of advertised routing information being filtered out by other routers; and of routing-table explosion; no need for expensive routers; and for highly-skilled BGP engineers. We introduce our configurations for a multi-home server, and show our system´s behavior and its robustness. We discuss the state of the art in terms of reliable Internet servers with a multi-home environment
