Abstract :
The increased challenges to reduce operating costs, enhance the availability of the generating and transmission equipment and improve the supply of power and service to customers, have produced a need for condition monitoring of power system equipment. The fuelling machine grab cables are subjected to repeated bending around a series of pulleys that induce a twist in the cables. The twisting of the cables ultimately results in the failure of the cables. In this paper, a new method, WACM, is proposed. Wavelet analysis is used to detect the twisting degree. The calculation results show that this method is superior to DLCM.
