Abstract :
A new operating mode is proposed in this paper which mixed single-phase and two-phase conduction mode together based on 8/6 structure Switched Reluctance Motor (referred to as SRM). Compared with the single-phase or two-phase conduction mode, the commutation interval of SRM is narrowed and positioning accuracy of Switched Reluctance Motor Drive (referred to as SRD) position detection is improved by this new mixed-conduction mode, using a method to subdivide the stepping angle of SRM. Finally, the commutation logic based on mixed-conduction mode is proposed through the analysis of motor winding inductance wave, which provides the main theoretical basis for the application of mixed-conduction mode used in 8/6 structure SRM and it is also demonstrated by simulation of 8/6 SRM.
