Abstract :
Natural environment modeling and simulation is a hotspot in M&S field. Atmosphere environment simulation is an important part of synthetic natural environment modeling and simulation. In military training and weapon manufacturing, it is very important to promote simulation fidelity via combining the atmosphere environment simulation with traditional simulation systems. This paper studies the atmosphere environment data model standard and discusses the atmosphere database implementation. The research fruits are as follows. Firstly, SEDRIS and its application in the environment simulation are analyzed thoroughly. Secondly, the system architecture of atmosphere database is proposed on the basis of SEDRIS. The atmosphere database generates the atmosphere data to meet the need of simulations and stores the data in an optimized data structure. It also supports reuse and interoperability of the environment data. Finally, how to extract the data and build the run-time atmosphere database in order to provide data service for simulation applications is presented.
