Abstract :
Within the modeling design in discrete element method, there is always the modeling problem of complex particle which can not meet the needs of design requirements through approximation modeling of CAD primitive. This paper will explore a method to design an algorithm by filling equal radius balls inside the complex particle along their outer boundary and use simple geometrical shape in modeling instead of complex particle using the method of filling balls in arbitrarily complex space and the algorithm of neighborhood search, based on saving computer initial configuration of memory. This method simplifies the computational process of simulation analysis with discrete element method.
