  • Abstract
High Tc superconductors (HTS) have been developed since 1986. The successfully produced HTS wire, with long length, high critical current density and mechanical flexibility, has demonstrated a very good potential to be operated at 77 K liquid nitrogen temperature for electrical applications. The Ag clad (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+x (Bi-2223/Ag) HTS wires are characterized with respect to the design of a conductor for use in electrical engineering. Properties and parameters of the Bi-2223/Ag HTS wire associated with practical conductor design are investigated and analyzed.
